Cooking supplies are addicting and I love shopping for them. Not at those big stores at the outlet malls that have all the tacky stuff. I love shopping at the upscale kitchen supply stores that only stock really top quality items.
Lately my time has been so tight I’ve resorted to window shopping for cooking supplies on the internet. Most of the really fun stores have websites and sell all of their wares online. So I do visit those sites, but the one I have been delighted with the most is eBay. Can you believe it?
I’ve heard that eBay is way up there in popularity on the internet and millions of people go there everyday. Makes sense to me. If there’s something you want, you’ll find it there. And once in awhile you can get lucky and get a real bargain. I think I’m hooked.
Now, when I go to eBay.com and type in “cooking supplies,” the search comes back as 0 items. What good is that? I agree. But, if you type in a specific product that you’re interested in, you’ll find every size, color, and brand imaginable.
If you look at just the categories you’ll see they have a section on “Kitchen, Dining, & Bar.” That’s where I go to look. The most expensive item today is a microwave for $619. Next a water purifier, some cookware and then an assortment of juicers and blenders.
All in all there are 95,000 items in this category. Amazing, huh?
At the low end you’ll find champagne flutes for 6 cents and a kitchen towel for 99 cents, and then it goes up from there. But it’s not worth the shipping, is it? I’ll tell you there are a whole lot more bids on the low priced cooking accessories that the higher end ones. No surprise there.
I’ll keep checking it out and report back later.
